Louis Orr completed his sixth season as Bowling Green State University’s head men’s basketball coach with a 63-52 loss to Miami Monday night.
The Falcons finished 13-19 this season and have had only one winning season in Orr’s six years. Overall, BG is 12 games under .500 in Orr’s six years at 89-101.
Bowling Green was 19-14 in 2008-09, Orr’s second year, and he received a two-year contract extension after that season. The Falcons were 16-16 last season.
Orr now has one year remaining on his contact.
Orr was asked about his future with the Falcons after Monday’s loss.
‘‘I trust God with everything, my job. The most precious thing that we have is our souls and I turned that over to Him 30 years ago,’’ Orr said. ‘‘As far as my job, God brought me here and I trust Him with it.
“He knows best,’’ Orr continued. ‘‘I’m the coach right now, so what happens in the future only God knows.
‘‘The only thing in my control is my faith and coaching the game,’’ Orr added. ‘‘I didn’t hire myself and I am under contract and that’s how it is.’’
BG senior A’uston Calhoun said the coaching staff had the team ready to play.
‘‘As a player we all know that performance is totally on us,’’ Calhoun said. ‘‘Coaches can do all they can in practice, prepare us, film, scouting reports, things such as that.
‘‘But when it comes to performing and taking that information that they give us, executing it on a night-in, night-out basis, that’s our job as players.’’
Calhoun said the players came up short on their end.
‘‘Our coaching staff did a great job of preparing us for this game like they have all season,’’ Calhoun said. ‘‘Our problem has been all season, translating that and using it against our opponent.’’
