FINDLAY — Bill Frack, a long-time supporter of the Bowling Green State University men’s basketball
program, died Wednesday at The Heritage nursing home. He was 79.
Frack announced on April 9 the value of his gift to the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation had
nearly doubled to about $20 million since it was first announced in 2011.
Three-quarters of the annual distributions from the series of existing trusts go to BG’s men’s basketball
program.
The remaining proceeds are being used to help fight domestic violence and homelessness in Hancock County.

“BGSU and the athletics department mourn the loss of Bill Frack,” BGSU athletics director Chris Kingston
said in a statement. “We are committed to fulfill Bill’s vision for the Bowling Green State University
men’s basketball program.”
Frack, who made his money by investing, also donated about $700,000 to the university in March.
The donation allowed the university to offer a more competitive compensation package so it could hire
Chris Jans as its head men’s basketball coach. Jans had been an assistant coach at Wichita State.
Frack was a BG men’s basketball fan for more than six decades. His father first brought him to watch the
Falcons play in 1948 in the old Men’s Gym, and he remained a loyal fan.
The court at the Stroh Center is named in his honor.
Frack was a Findlay resident.
