The Bowling Green State University athletics department is inviting all BG residents and businesses, BGSU students and BGSU campus offices to help Paint The Town Orange and Brown for the Aug. 29 home football opener against Tulsa.
The best-decorated in each category will be recognized on the video board at the home opener and receive various prizes.
Orange light bulbs are being given away until Thursday at the BGSU Ticket Office.
The athletics department is asking fans to replace their porch and other outdoor light bulbs with the orange ones through the home opener.
BGSU businesses and residents, along with BGSU campus offices and students, can register for judging of their decorations by using the hashtag #PaintTheTown on Twitter or Facebook and submitting a photo, or by online questionnaire, which will be made available to fans.
Starting Thursday, judging will begin on registered displays.
A panel of judges will view photos submitted online via Twitter and Facebook. The field will then be narrowed for in-person judging and winners will be announced Aug. 25.
The prizes are:
• BGSU campus offices - Stadium Club tickets to home opener;
• BGSU student groups - Choice of opportunity to participate in fan tunnel at home opener, Pizza Hut Pizza Party, or reserved seats in the first two rows for the home opener;
• BG residents - Season tickets and an official sideline gear package;
• BG businesses - Use of suite during home opener.
