While countless people were shopping for their Super Bowl parties last Sunday, approximately 150 members
of Brookside Evangelical Free Church went shopping for the Bowling Green Christian Food Pantry.
Following the morning worship services on Sunday the congregation car-pooled to a local store and spent
several thousand dollars on food to stock the shelves of the local pantry.
This is the second consecutive year for this project, which is part of the ongoing "Blessing
BG" campaign of the church.
"Our desire is to become a more generous community," said Pastor Kevin Crawford. "This is
a way to share our blessings with our neighbors."
All the food was loaded into a rental truck and delivered to the food pantry.
The donation will provide food for more than 100 families served by the pantry. Organizers said they
filled more than half the truck.
Brookside for 11 years has served individuals and families with a variety of ministries. They gather at
10 a.m. Sundays for worship at Olscamp Hall on the campus of Bowling Green State University.
