Owens band showcasing xylophone and painting PDF Print E-mail

The Owens Community College Concert Band’s Winter Pops Benefit Concert Sunday will aid the efforts of the Cherry Street Mission.
The 1:30 p.m. concert will be presented in the in the Mainstage Theatre in the college’s Center for the Fine and Performing Arts on Oregon Road in Perrysburg Township.
Musical selections presented by the Owens Concert Band,  comprised of Owens students and employees and community members, will include “Dances Americanesque”, “Amparito Roca”, “William Tell Overture”, “Xylophonia” and “The Wizard of Oz Meets The Wiz.”
The concert will feature a xylophone solo by Michael Sander of the Owens faculty.
Kevin Schroeder, of the Owens faculty, will paint a Disney-themed mural on stage while the band performs “The Music of Disneyland.”
