WBGU-FM will host its first Acousti-Christmas show as part of the Live Wire TV and radio concert series on Dec.5 at the Cla-Zel Theatre in Bowling Green.
This will be a concert featuring acoustic artists from across Ohio, including Bowling Green, Toledo, Dayton and Cleveland. Proceeds from this show will go to the Wood County Public Library for acquiring new music education resources.
Performers include: Diana Chittester, The Pinup Project with Morgen Steigler, Zack Fletcher, Balloon Messenger, Christopher Salyer, The Black Swamp Casket Company and Paige Beller.
"We feel a responsibility to help build up the next generation of musicians, producers and fans" said Ally Tharrett, host of the Afternoon Rush.
"Libraries are a great free community resource and we felt it was a natural tie in with the TV and radio concert series we produce," added Stephen Merrill, faculty advisor to WBGU-FM.
Live Wire is a TV and radio concert series recorded and produced by students and volunteers at WBGU-FM and is in the middle of its third production season. The series is recorded live and then aired at a later date on WBGU-FM and PBS affiliate, WBGU-TV.
There will be giveaways throughout the evening and food courtesy of the Melt Shoppe, a new Bowling Green restaurant.
A donation of $5 is requested at the door. An alternative donation of 3 non-perishable food items will be accepted and given to BG area food pantries.
