The Live in the House Concert Series at the Pemberville Opera House and the Grand Rapids Town Hall Opera House are set to resume.
The first concert in Pemberville only features Lisa Biales, "Belle of the Blues," Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
A native of Ohio, Biales grew up in a musical family and began her career as a performing songwriter at 13.  A singer and finger-style guitarist has independently released seven albums of music under her own Big Song Music label, and is heard on radio stations around the world. Her song "Playing With Angels" went to No. 1 in Australia on the Independent Folk Radio Charts. In the US, Lisa's song "Where The Buckwheat Blooms" went to No. 32 on folk radio stations, and "I Believe" was featured in the CW Network TV show "Girlfriends." Her CD "Closet Hippie" is being played on Sirius XM's The Coffee House.
Mick Rainsford, Blues In Britain, wrote: "Biales soulfully mines a diverse range of roots and Americana music."
The performances, sponsored by the Pemberville Historical Society and the Grand Rapids Arts Council, are staged the first weekend of each month through May with shows Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Pemberville and Sunday 2 p.m. in Grand Rapids. Tickets are $10 a show, or $75 for the series.
