"It’s Christmas Time" for DePue Brothers

0

The DePue Brothers – Wallace Jr., Alex, Jason and Zachary – won’t be making a stop to perform in
their hometown this Christmas season, but fans can get their fix of the longtime family band with a new
holiday CD."When It’s Christmas Time" features the brothers patented mix of styles ranging from
the classical sounds they were bred on to the comic rock that’s so much a part of their charm. Each gets a
chance to step forward. Alex DePue provides the humor on their standard "The Fat Man," while
Wallace DePue croons the country ballad that serves as the title tune and the evergreen "The Christmas
Song" (that would be the one about chestnuts roasting and all).Jason DePue plays the lead on the lush
"O Holy Night" and Zachary DePue swings out on "Winter Wonderland."It’s not only the
brothers who get a chance in the spotlight. Banjo player Mike Munford is featured on a "Medley of
Carols" and percussionist Don Liuzzi is in the forefront on "Pat-a-Pan."Munford also plays
lead on the classical rendition of ‘Ding Doing Merrily on High." That classical inclination also comes
out on "Jesu, Man of Joy’s Desiring."Another traditional song "Good King Wenceslas" gets
characteristic uptempo "Classical Grass" treatment .The CD at Finders Records in downtown Bowling
Green as well as on iTunes and online.-David Dupont, Sentinel Arts & Entertainment Editor
