Bob Ford and the Ragamuffins will bring a taste of old-time entertainment to county stages this weekend
for Live in the House shows.
The Ohio folk trio will perform Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Pemberville Opera House and Sunday at 2 p.m.
in the Grand Rapids Town Hall.
Tickets are $10 at the door and available in advance in Pemberville at Beeker’s General Store or by
calling 419-287-4848 and in Grand Rapids at Washer’s Laundromat or by calling 419-832-566.
Ford is a veteran performer on stage and as a school presenter. He’s joined by his daughter Beth Ford, on
vocals, electric bass and cello, and multi-instrumentalist Jan Finkle on guitar, flute, whistle and
"whatever she can fit in her basket."
The band has two recordings, one devoted to fireside songs of the Old West and Irish tunes celebrating
the seasons.
They’re concert is filled with familiar folk songs made famous by the likes of Burl Ives, Tommy Makem and
the Kingston Trio.
Bill Kennedy in the Cleveland Plain Dealer said of his performance: "Bob Ford animates his tales of
frontier America."
