assistant professor of bassoon, will perform works by Mozart ,contemporary composer Gernot Wolfgang and J.S.
Bach’s Cello Suite No. 2 in a new format at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts
Center.TUESDAYThe Percussion Ensemble will perform at 8 p.m. in Kobacker Hall of the Moore Musical Arts
Center.WEDNESDAYWorld Percussion Night, featuring student ensembles including the Hayabusa and Kaze No
Daichi Taiko groups, Balinese Gamelan and Afro-Caribbean Ensemble, will be presented at 8 p.m. in Kobacker
Hall.DEC. 5Bachelor of Fine Arts students will read their work at 7:30 p.m. at Prout Chapel in the Creative
Writing Program’s Reading Series. Co-sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences, Creative Writing Program
and the Mid-American Review.DEC. 6The annual ArtsX event spreads across all three buildings in the arts
campus, including the Dorothy Uber Bryan and Willard Wankelman galleries, with exhibits and performances by
students and faculty. The evening includes a special continuous outdoor showing of "Cinema
Optique!" – animation graphics covering the south wall of the Wolfe Center for the Arts. Works from the
College of Musical Arts, the School of Art, the Department of Theatre and Film, the Creative Writing
Program, the Dance Program, and numerous other organizations will be featured, along with holiday shopping.
The "Wonderland"-themed event starts at 6 p.m. and runs to 10 p.m.In conjunction with ArtsX,
BGSU’s top ensembles will present a special Festival Series holiday showcase starting at 7 p.m. in Kobacker
Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center. The night consists of holiday favorites, special readings and Haydn’s
"Toy Symphony." Ensembles include the BG Philharmonia, BG Wind Symphony, University Choirs and
guest artist soprano Kisma Jordan, a BGSU alumna. Tickets are $25 to $39. Call 419-372-8171 or visit

will be on display from 7-8 p.m. and continue through Dec. 11.DEC. 7Guest artist Lars Mlekusch, saxophone,
performs Hiroyuki Itoh’s "The Angel of Despair" and Luciano Berio’s "Sequenza WIIb," as
well as improvising session at 4 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall.DEC. 11All day in Kobacker Hall of the Moore
Musical Arts Center, BGSU students will compete in the semi-final round of Competitions in Music for a
chance to perform a solo with the BG Philharmonia.
