TODAY
McMaster Professor in Vocal and Choral Studies Ann Baltz will be on campus through Wednesday  participating in panel discussions, coaching students and conducting master classes. Baltz is the founder of the performance-training program OperaWorks and is considered one of the leading opera educators in America.

Robert Bruegmann of the University of Illinois at Chicago presents "Art Deco Chicago and American Mainstream Modernism" at 5 p.m. in 204 Fine Arts Center. His ARTalk will focus on architecture, art and design in Chicago between the two world wars.  

TUESDAY
Tuesdays at the Gish screens the 1976 comedy "Car Wash" at 7:30 p.m. in the Gish Film Theater of Hanna Hall.

Student Jazz Guitar Ensembles perform at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center.

THURSDAY
Master of Fine Arts students Gabrielle Hovendon and Casey Nichols read from their work t at 7:30 p.m. in the Prout Chapelas part of the Creative Writing Program's Fall 2013 Reading Series.

"The White Ribbon," the Palm d'Or winning drama, will be shown at 7:30 p.m. in the Gish Film Theater  of World War I, villagers in Protestant northern Germany experience unexplained events that appear to be a punishment ritual.

The Jazz Lab Band I performs at 8 p.m. in Kobacker Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center.

FRIDAY
The String Chamber Music Festival kicks off at 8 a.m. in the Moore Musical Arts Center. Beginning and advanced high school-age string musicians come together to get training from BGSU faculty, including Penny Kruse and Stephen Miahky on violin, Matthew McBride-Daline on viola, Alan Smith on cello, Robert Rohwer on bass, and Emily Freeman Brown as conductor. Student Chamber Jazz Ensembles will perform at 8 p.m. in the Bryan Recital Hall.

NOV.  13
Matthew McBride-Daline, viola, will perform at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall.

AT THE GALLERIES
The exhibit "As They Like It," showcases Chicago artists' interpretations of Shakespeare in the Willard Wankelman Gallery of the Fine Arts Center. Anne Farley Gaines, Maureen Warren and Robert Kameczura curate the show. Through Nov. 22. New Art and Sound features multimedia works of Terry Adkins, George Lewis and Pamela Z in the Dorothy Uber Bryan Gallery. Through Nov. 17.
