TODAY
The Steel Drum Ensemble will perform at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall.
THURSDAY
BFA in Writing students Nicholas Horn, Kyle Nutter and Christine Zapiecki will read from their work at
7:30 p.m. in Prout Chapel.
World Percussion Night will feature the Taiko, Afro-Caribbean and Gamelan ensembles at 8 p.m. in Kobacker
Hall.
THURSDAY-SUNDAY
The Department of Theatre and Film will stage the musical "Legally Blonde" Thursday, Friday and
Saturday at 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Donnell Theatre of the Wolfe Center for the
Arts. Tickets ordered at www.bgsu.edu/arts are $10, $7 for senior citizens and non-BGSU students, and
$1.75 for BGSU students. Tickets purchased from 419-372-8171 or at the box office are $12 and $7.
FRIDAY
The Master of Fine Arts Senior Thesis Exhibition II opens with a 7-9 p.m. reception in the Dorothy Uber
Bryan and Willard Wankelman galleries at the Fine Arts Center. The show continues through May 4. Gallery
hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 6-9 p.m. Thursdays, and 1-4 p.m. Sundays.
SATURDAY
Guest artist Jerome Lowenthal visits campus for a concert at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall. Lowenthal is a
world-renowned pianist who spent 18 years teaching at the Julliard School in New York City.
SUNDAY
BG Philharmonia will perform at 3 p.m. in Kobacker Hall. The program includes: "Petrouchka" by
Igor Stravinsky; "Violin Concerto in E major" by J.S. Bach featuring Stephen Miahky; and
anthems by Hubert Parry with the University Choral Society. Tickets are $10 at bgsu.edu/arts. For

The Gish Film Theater’s Sunday Matinee features two notable silent era comedians: Harold Lloyd and Stan
Laurel. "Dr. Jack"(1922) highlights Lloyd’s comedic skills when he portrays a working-class
physician who has to take on a high-society case. Laurel shows off his talents in the adventure parody
"Rupert of Hee Haw"(1924). Both films include appearances by Our Gang (Little Rascals). The
films start at 3 p.m. in the Gish Film Theater of Hanna Hall. Free
MAY 2
"The Island of Lost Things," about a man who ends up on a mysterious island full of objects
from his past, will premiere at 7:30 p.m. in the Gish Film Theater. The film was produced by students
under the direction of Thomas Javier Castillo.
