PERRYSBURG - The Perrysburg Chamber of Commerce has contracted with Main Art-ery to organize Rally For the Arts, the arts component of Harrison Rally Day on Sept. 21.
Rally for the Arts includes the art exhibit, children's area Creation Station and main stage entertainment.
Volunteers from Main Art-ery recruited most of the artists through direct contact to ensure an interesting and quality lineup 95 booths of art showcasing a spectrum of fine arts and crafts
Emanuel Enriquez, a sculptor and painter, and Craig Fisher, print maker/commercial graphic artist will select three award winners out of 29 Distinguished Artists. Prizes are $500, $300 and $200.
"Creation Station", children's activity area has partnered with Seven Eagles Historical Education Center to offer art projects that reflect authentic wares used by Native Americans who lived in the Great Lakes area. Martin Nagy, internationally recognized arts educator will appear as "Lightfoot", in period garb who represents the Ottawa Tribe. Lightfoot will provide storytelling interwoven with some history of the Native Americans that lived in the area along the Maumee River.
Creation Station will also include Air Extreme inflatable toys which requires a ticket purchase for entry
Scheduled to perform on the Main Stage are:
• The House Band, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
• Arctic Clam, 1 to 2:30 p.m.
• Perrysburg High School Women's Select and Jazz Singers, 2:30 p.m.
• Athens Wheeler, 3 to 4:30 p.m.
