'American Salvage' on stage at Owens Community College
Owens Community College students, staff and faculty will perform theatrical versions of two stories from Bonnie Jo Campbell's collection "American Salvage" this weekend in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, 30335 Oregon Road, in Perrysburg Township.
Performances will be today, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets are $6.
On Saturday the Michigan author will join the actors and designers for a post-performance discussion.
This is the first time the book has been dramatized. The cast will perform "King Cole's American Salvage" and "The Inventor, 1972."
Higher Ground offering local crafts for sale
PEMBERVILLE - The Higher Ground Coffee Shop, 222 E. Front St., is featuring several local crafters selling articles through December.
The featured artists in November are: Deborah McEwen (pottery), Tammy Miller (jewelry), Gretchen Adams (jams) and RealInk from Wood Lane School.
December artists are: Andrea Brown (jewelry), Cathy Masin, (wooden ornaments) Doreen Kirk's art students (paintings) and Jessica McDevitt (cards, tags, holders).
Terra hosting concert of organ & brass music
FREMONT - Organist Nathan Herb with the Terra Community College Brass Choir will present a concert of music for an organ and brass Friday, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 702 Croghan St.
The concert will include a performance of the familiar "Great Gate of Kiev" from Pictures at an Exhibition and a new arrangement of "A Western Fanfare" by Eric Ewazen, arranged specifically for the Terra Brass Choir by director Jeff Blanchard.
Waterville Playshop to hold 'Over the River' auditions
WATERVILLE - Auditions for Waterville Playshop's next show, "Over the River and Through the Woods" will be held Dec. 1 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church.
Production dates will be Feb. 14 through Feb. 16 at Maumee Indoor Theater.
Joe Baron is directing the cast of two men and two women, all 50 or older, and one male and one female, both between 20 and 30 years old.
