Friendship Park comes alive with sounds of music
MILLBURY - The summer Music in the Park concert series returns to  Friendship Park, 27975 Cummings Road Friday with a country concert by Crimson Light from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The lineup for future shows is:
• June 28, Sneakers Bank, music from the '50s, '60s and '70s.
• July 12, Just Us Two, country.
• July 19, Bridge Country Bluegrass
• July 26, Genoa Legion Band, polka, marches and patriotic music
• Aug. 2, Classic Country.
• Aug. 9, Swingsters, big band.
• Aug. 16, Deutschmeister Band, marches, polkas and fox trots.

BG parks get in the act
Music continues this weekend in Bowling Green City Parks.
Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch in the Park features The Gene Parker Trio with food available from South Side 6.
Sunday at 7 p.m. the Concerts in Park will present The Connor Rose Show.

Barbara Miner honored at Pennsylvania exhibit
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Barbara Miner, Bowling Green, was recently selected as the winner of an Award of Merit at the Images 2013 exhibition, the annual fine art and craft exhibition sponsored by the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts.
Miner received the award for her work, "reclaimed-adjustment." Miner serves as the Associate Chair of the Department of Art at the University of Toledo.
The exhibit will be shown in the Pennsylvania State University's Robeson Gallery through July 14.

PRIZM hosts trip to Mazza
PRIZM Creative Community is sponsoring a free docent lead tour of The Mazza Museum in Findlay June 26 as the first event of its summer  "INSPIRATION STAYCATION"  
The trip will leave from  the parking lot of  Riverplace, Ohio 25 at 9:45 a.m. Activities include   an early lunch at Rossilli's, the tour and a stop at Dietsch Bros. Ice Cream and Chocolate. Tour should return to Perrysburg by about 4 p.m.

'Gentlemen Prefer Blonds' on stage in Fremont
FREMONT - Tickets are now on sale for Fremont Community Teen Theatre's production of the musical, "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" which runs June 27, 28 and 29 at 8 p.m. and June 30 at 2 p.m. in the community theater, 1551 Dickinson St.
The production is directed by Ryan Mahaffey.

Silver piano trio to swing for Jazz on the Maumee
TOLEDO -  The Josh Silver Trio will perform a Jazz on the Maumee concert Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Aqua Lounge at the Grand Plaza Hotel, 444 N Summit St.
Joining the pianist will be Jeff Halsey, bass, and Travis Aukerman, drums.
Cover charge is $15, $10 for members of the Art Tatum Jazz Society and  $5 for students.

Clark sings at Hayes Home
FREMONT - Singer-songwriter Kerry Clark will perform as part of the Verandah Concert  series at the Hayes Presidential Center  June 26 at 7 p.m.
An old-fashioned ice cream social will be served at 6:45 p.m.

Wesley Gallery displays work by Michigan photographers
FOSTORIA - An exhibit "One Shutter at a Time" featuring the work of Michigan photographers Sylvia Ford and Jerold Hale continues through July 31 at the Wesley Memorial Gallery in the narthex of the Wesley United Memorial Church, 1200 Van Buren St.
