Sword & sorcery writer opens local literary series
A reading a series of sword and sorcery fantasies will inaugurate a new series of events featuring local
authors at Grounds for Thought, 174 S. Main St., Bowling Green.
James Pfundstein, who writes the "Blood of Ambrose" series under the pseudonym
James Enge, will read from his work May 29 at 7 p.m.
Pfundstein is a professor of Latin at Bowling Green State University.
Electronic improv in concert
TOLEDO – Robinwood Concert House, 2564 Robinwood Ave., will feature a double bill of improvised
electronic music Saturday at 9 p.m.
Ben Miller’s project degeneration "explores ‘prepared guitar’ as a form of sonic degeneration,"
the venue says. Miller has altered his instrument and plays it with metal slides, springs, combs, chains
and bows while employing various effects pedals.
Toledo performer Dr. Rhomboid Goatcabin mixes improvisation with chance operations, navigating "an
array of poised electronic collages and a convulsing ritual of aural exorcisms" achieved with
traditional instruments, toys, household goods and random electronic devices.
