Wailers at Hollywood Casino
TOLEDO – The iconic reggae band The Wailers will perform Saturday at 10 p.m. at the H Lounge in the
Hollywood Casino,1968 Miami St., just north of downtown Rossford.
Formerly reggae legend Bob Marley’s band, The Wailers are touring to mark the 30th anniversary of
Marley’s "Legend." The band will perform the album in its entirety. With more than 30 million
copies sold, "Legend" was named by Time Magazine as the Best Album of the 20th Century and
ranked 46th on Rolling Stone Magazine’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time .
County musicians awarded symphony scholarships
TOLEDO -Young musicians from Wood County were among those receiving Toledo Symphony League Remembrance
Fund scholarships recently at the Toledo Youth Symphony Pops Concert.
Scholarship winners are:
• From Concert Orchestra – Lydia Everson, cello, Grand Rapids.
• From Symphonic Orchestra – Erin Gardner, violin, Perrysburg.
• From Philharmonic Orchestra – Joseph Buzzelli, violin, Tucker Pendleton, French horn, and Lilly Rakas,
flute, all Bowling Green; Carter Adams, timpani, Lang Liang, viola, Lilly Schmitz, violin, and Henry
Yang, violin, all Perrysburg; and Daniel Everson, violin, Grand Rapids.
Poet to discuss form at Perrysburg library
PERRYSBURG – Local poet and Bowling Green State University instructor F. Daniel Rzicznek will discuss
"Vehicles, Vessels, and Forms for Poetry" Tuesday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Way Public
Library, 101 E. Indiana Ave.
The session will start with formal, rhyming and repeating forms of poetry and move forward through time
to contemporary techniques such as free verse, prose poetry, and other open forms as well as suggestions
how to apply these forms.
The fee is $10 for PRIZM members or $15 for non-members. Registration is available at www.MyPrizm.com.

Davies’ watercolors focus of Greenhouse Effect exhibit
PERRYSBURG – The Greenhouse Effect, an exhibit of Janet Ritter Davies’ art inspired by her work in a
greenhouse is on exhibit June 16 in the Perrysburg Municipal Building, 201 W. Indiana Ave.
Davis’s exhibit, curated by Main Art-ery, features 35 watercolor paintings that include a range of
subject matter ranging from crisp flower compositions to avian art.
In describing her technique, the artist said: "I break the traditional watercolor rules. I strive
for realism and great detail in my watercolor paintings. I focus on intricate details by using hard
edges and a dry brush method as opposed to the more traditional wet on wet technique."
Heidelberg Concert Choir to sing in Rosary Cathedral
TOLEDO – The Concert Choir, the premiere choral ensemble of Heidelberg University’s School of Music and
Theatre, will perform at Rosary Cathedral, 2535 Collingwood Blvd., Monday at 7 p.m..
Under the direction of Dr. Greg Ramsdell, director of choral activities and assistant professor of choral
music education, the 47-member vocal ensemble will present a concert themed "British Invasion"
that will include repertoire reflecting on America’s fascination with many aspects of British culture.

The concert includes work by Eric Whitacre,Lloyd Pfautsch, Dale Grontenhuis and the Beatles.
