PBS producer to speak
PERRYSBURG – WGTE Public Media will present Rebecca Eaton, executive producer of PBS’s
"Masterpiece" and "Mystery!" and best-selling author, on May 18 at 2 p.m. at the
Hilton Garden Inn at Levis Commons, Perrysburg.
Eaton will reveal the secrets to Downton Abbey, Sherlock and other hit programs and discuss her new
memoir, "Making Masterpiece: 25 Years Behind the Scenes at Masterpiece Theatre and Mystery! on
PBS."
Eaton will sign books after her 2 p.m. The event is open to the public. It is free for WGTE members and
$15 for non-members. Advance reservations are required and can be made by calling 419-380-4625 or
visiting www.wgte.org.
Carruth to sign work
WATERVILLE – George Carruth will sign his work and meet with customers at the Spring Artist Signing event
Saturday at the Garden Smiles, 211 Mechanic St.
Garden Smiles marked its 30th anniversary last year. His work has been featured a garden line featuring
more than 250 designs as well as major projects including work for the National Cathedral in Washington
D.C.
Regan directing ‘Doubt’
TOLEDO -The Actors Collaborative Toledo will present "Doubt, a parable" by John Patrick Shanley
Friday at p.m. in the chapel at Trinity Episcopal Church, 316 Adams St.
Directed by F. Scott Regan , the play features Barbara Barkan, Natalie Bostelman, Elizabeth Cottle, Cheri
Crane Kizaur and Matthew Kizaur.
Tickets are $10.
Peslikis band jams at library
TOLEDO -The Michael Peslikis Quartette will perform Saturday from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Kent Branch Library,
3101 Collingwood Blvd.
The performance culminates a celebration of jazz which will start at noon with the screening of some
short films about John Coltrane followed by music from a several local jazz acts.
Mennonite Choir to sing
at Holy Rosary Cathedral
TOLEDO – The Zion Mennonite Choir will perform Sunday at 3 p.m. as part of the Cathedral Concert Series
at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, 2535 Collingwood Blvd
Under the direction of James Sauder, the choir will perform Franz Schubert’s Mass in G major" as
well as arrangements of well- known hymns and spirituals.
Founded in 1955, the Zion Mennonite Church Choir is composed of singers who are members of various
Christian churches in the Archbold area.
A suggested freewill donation of $5 will be collected at the door.
WGTE celebrates jazz show
HOLLAND -WGTE Public Media is hosting a party May 1 at 6:45 p.m. to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its
radio series, "Jazz Spectrum 91" with the series creator and volunteer host, Fritz Byers at
Firepit Grille, 7723 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio.
From 7 to 10:30 p.m. Scott Potter & Friends will perform on the Firepit Grille’s covered patio.
Scheduled to perform with the Potter are Chris Buzzelli, Kevin Eikum, Pete Siers and Mark Lemle.
"Jazz Spectrum 91" first aired on April 1, 1989 and has been on WGTE FM 91 every Saturday since
from 9 p.m. to midnight.
