Rat Pack comes to Pemberville for historical society fundraiser
PEMBERVILLE - "That's Amore, An Evening With The Rat Pack!" will be presented April 19  with the Riverview Banquet Centre, 405 E. Front St. transformed into Little Italy.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the Pemberville Freedom Area Historical Society's spring fundraiser with an Italian buffet and open bar The April 19.
Tickets are  $30 per person for food and show.
Damione Fontaine, Scott Brotherton and Stan Davis are three veteran performers who bring back the sounds of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr.  and evoke the sights, sounds and ambiance of nightclub acts of the 1950s and 1960s
Monies raised enables the Pemberville Freedom Area Historical Society to care for its buildings and nurture the history of the village.

BGSU choir to perform sacred music at Presbyterian church
The Bowling Green State University A Cappella Choir will perform at the First Presbyterian Church at 126 Church St., Bowling Green.
The choir will present  45-minute program of sacred music. Featured will be as setting of Psalm 139 ("You have searched me, Lord") by Swedish composer Sven-David Sandstr√∂m. The composer recently was in residence at BGSU.
The program also will include  Latin and English pieces from the Renaissance, African-American spirituals, Mendelssohn's "Heilig," and "Cantus gloriosus" by contemporary Polish composer Josef Swider.

Tower Brass plays urban sounds at Toledo Museum
TOLEDO - Tower Brass will perform at the Toledo Museum of Art Sunday at 3 p.m.
The concert will feature music with an urban theme by the quintet's tuba player David Saygers as well as Aaron Copland and Michael Tilson Thomas.
The quintet, which was founded more than 30 years ago at Bowling Green State University, has toured and performed internationally.
Other members are: Brian Bushong and Charles Saenz, trumpets; Bernice Schwartz, French horn; and Daniel Saygers, trombone.

Owens student exhibit opens
Juried Student Art Exhibition  opens at Owens Community College's Walter E. Terhune Art Gallery Friday with a reception and awards ceremony  from 6-8 p.m.
The show continues through May 3 in the gallery in the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts, off Oregon Road, Perrysburg Township.
The exhibit features more than 100 art works by more than 30 students.
Those exhibiting include: Paul Kirian, Yang Wang, Amber Snyder, Hongra Li and Jessica Wickard all of Bowling Green; Kayla Schellhammer, Mike Budyka, Veronica Wright, Ben Snyder, Chris Cleland, Thomas Sumwalt, Chantel Schwarck, Paul Verdell and Liz Buckland, all of Perrysburg; Morgan Hanthorn, Grand Rapids; Lee Welch of Luckey; Micha Childress, Northwood; Kyle Csortos, Millbury; Kasey Krotzer, Gibsonburg; Andrew Smith and Cherie Guthrie, both of Waterville; and Linda Brown and Ellen Koeberlein, both of Whitehouse
Admission to the gallery is free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays; and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Toledo Symphony hosts 'Music of the Eagles' show
TOLEDO - A few tickets are still available for the Toledo Symphony Orchestra's presentation "Music of the Eagles" Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Stranahan Theater, 4645 Heatherdowns Blvd.
