Art Walk seeking exhibitors
Area artists working in all mediums are invited to showcase their work in the 21st Annual Art Walk, April 27 from 10 to 5 p.m. The application deadline is March 26.
This non-juried show is open to artists of any age.Â Artists are invited to exhibit their work, host demonstrations and offer their art for sale.Â Performing artists are also invited to participate.
Artist registration is available for download atÂ www.downtownbgohio.org, Copies can be picked up at the Downtown Bowling Green office, 121 East Wooster St.Â Call (419) 354-4332 for more information.
Observational comic in BG
Ken Evans with his observational style of comedy will headline Comedy Night Tuesday at 9 p.m. at 149 North in downtown Bowling Green.
He has appeared on NBC's "Ed", "Caroline's Comedy Hour" and "Last Comic Standing."Â He's been a studio guest of the "Bob and Tom" and the "Bob and Sherry" national radio shows.
Tickets are for those 18 and up are $3 with valid student id or $5 without.
Photographer Purcell to give lecture at University of Toledo
TOLEDO - Internationally known photographer and author Rosamond Purcell will speak about her work Feb. 28Â at noon
in the Canaday Center for Special Collections on the fifth floor of Carlson Library on the University of Toledo's Bancroft campus.
Purcell has written or illustrated 17 books, including two books with Stephen J. Gould. Â
She is known for her photographic documentation of natural history collections housed in such far-flung places as the University of Leiden, the Netherlands. Â
Her work has been widely exhibited.
Jazz duo performs on Maumee
TOLEDO - The vocal piano duo of Atla andÂ Matt DeChamplain will be joined by bassist Clifford Murphy for a Jazz on the Maumee show Feb. 27 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Grand Plaza Hotel's Aqua Lounge, 444 N. Summit.
Cover charge is $15, $10 for members of the Art Tatum Jazz Society and $5 for students.
Valentine offers comedy, musical & Cirque D'Or
TOLEDO -Â Songs, laughs and thrills are on tap at the Valentine Theatre.
The musical for mature audiences "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" opens Friday with an 8 p.m. show, and runs Friday and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. through March 10 in the Valentine Studio A Theatre, 410 Adams St. Tickets are $20.
At the main theater, the Second City comedy troupe will perform Saturday atÂ 8 p.m. Tickets $24-$40.
And on Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. the more than 30 acrobats and performers of Cirque D'Or will perform. Tickets $30 to $55.
Playshop casting 'Joseph'
WATERVILLE - The Waterville Playshop is casting its production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."
Auditions will be at Zion Lutheran Church, 22 N. Second St. for adults March 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. and March 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. and for children (10 and older) March 3 from 4 to 5 p.m.
Directed by Sam Macera, performances will be May 3, 4 and 5 at the Maumee Indoor Theatre.Â Â
