Julie Buzzelli featured in "Harp Madness" concert TOLEDO - Harpist Julie Buzzelli, Of Bowling Green, will be the featured soloist on the upcoming "Harp Madness" program presented by the SonoNovo Chamber Ensemble Friday at 7 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 316 Michigan Ave. Buzzelli is adjunct assistant professor of harp at the Bowling Green State University College of Musical Arts. The program features an all-French program of 20th century works for harp and orchestra. Buzzelli and the ensemble will perform: Marcel Grandjany's "Aria in Classic Style" ; Claude Debussy's "Prelude to 'The Afternoon of a Faun,'"; and Darius Milhaud's "Chamber Symphonies." Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and seniors and may be reserved by call Trinity Episcopal at (419) 243.1231. Special $5 rush seats are available for students at the door one hour before the concert with a valid student id. Bowersox tickets on sale TOLEDO - Tickets are now on sale for "American Idol" runner up Crystal Bowersox's appearance March 3 at 7:30 p.m. show at the SeaGate Center. The show will benefit Bowersox' alma mater, the Toledo School for the Arts. Tickets are $37 and are available through the Huntington Center Box, or by calling Ticketmaster at 800-745-3000 and at www.ticketmaster.com. The Toledo show is part of a nationwide tour. Fiber show seeks entries PERRYSBURG - The fiber577 committee is currently seeking entries for its annual juried fiber show. Application deadline is April 8. The show will be held June 8 and 9 at The 577 Foundation, Participating artists will be eligible for several monetary awards and one artist will be warded a solo exhibit in conjunction with the 2014 fiber577 show. Levis Fine Art Fair accepting applications PERRYSBURG - The Guild of Artists & Artisans is accepting applications for the Levis Commons Fine Art Fair. Deadline for application Feb. 28. The fair will be held Aug. 17 and 18 and will feature 125 artists. The Levis Commons Fine Art Fair was named one of Sunshine Magazine's 200 best art fairs in the country for 2012. Claude Black memorialized TOLEDO - A memorial concert for the late jazz pianist Claude Black will be held Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Aqua Lounge in the Grand Plaza Hotel, 444 N. Summit St. The show, "Remembering Claude Black," sponsored by the Art Tatum Jazz Society will feature pianists Josh Silver and Jim Gottron. Cover is $15, $10 for jazz society members and $5 for students. Black, a longtime fixture on the Toledo jazz scene, died Jan. 17. |
