Anime lovers convene at BGSU

Bowling Green State University’s Anime in Northwest Ohio will host its 12th annual Animarathon anime
convention Saturday, March 22 in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union.
The event spread over three floors of the union will feature panel discussions, raffles, dancing,
screening rooms and the massive Dealer’s Bazaar with more than 50 dealers and artists in the Lenhart
Grand Ballroom. This year’s special guests include voice actors Martin "LittleKuriboh"
Billany, creator of the "Abridged" Web videos, and his wife, Marianne Miller, plus BGSU
alumnus Dirk Manning, prolific horror comic book writer.
Mannin is known for writing and creating the horror comic books "Nightmare World," "Tales
of Mr. Rhee" and "The Legend of Oz: The Wicked Wes."
The Cosplay Competition begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Lenhart Grand Ballroom. DJ 4X will host the annual
rave from 9-11:30 p.m. in the Multi-purpose Room.
All panel discussions and the Manga Library will be found on the third floor of the Student Union. Panel
topics range from "Star Wars: The Literary Universe," presented by the nonfiction editor of
Prairie Margins literary magazine, and a weapons demonstration by the Society for Creative Anachronism.

The Falcon’s Nest will host performances by the Plastic Shatners, the Game and Anime Music Ensemble
concert and the Taiko performance
Registration is $3 at the door, or $5 for Premium Registration. The doors open at 9 a.m.
