Cavaliers building on momentum; LeBron next?

CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cavaliers have some momentum. Maybe even enough to get LeBron James back.
Shortly after free agency opened Tuesday, the Cavs agreed to terms on a new five-year contract extension
with Kyrie Irving, a deal that locks up the All-Star point guard for six years. It also puts to rest
notions he was unhappy with the Cavs or they didn’t see the 22-year-old as a cornerstone player.
Irving’s deal, along with the recent hiring of new coach David Blatt and selection of swingman Andrew
Wiggins with the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft, has raised the Cavs’ profile.
Cleveland appears to be in line to make a strong pitch to James, who is a free agent for the second time.
James never rejected the possibility of a return.
