Browns: Nothing finalized with coach

0

CLEVELAND — A Browns spokesman says the team has not yet decided on a coach, however, signs are pointing
to Buffalo defensive coordinator Mike Pettine as the favorite.
The Browns have been searching for a coach since firing Rob Chudzinski on Dec. 29. They seem to be
working toward an agreement with Pettine. The 47-year-old has already met twice with the Browns and
could become the seventh full-time coach since 1999.
The team struck down a report Thursday saying Pettine has been hired, calling it “false” and saying the
Browns have not made a decision.
Pettine is one of at least 10 known candidates to interview with the Browns. The club has had one
interview with Seattle defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who is preparing for the Super Bowl.
