ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Jordan Morgan isn’t going to be a high NBA draft pick and he’ll certainly never have his number raised to the Crisler Center rafters.
On Saturday, however, Morgan showed one more time why he’ll always be remembered fondly at Michigan.
Playing his final home game, Morgan had his first double-double of the season, putting up 15 points and 10 rebounds to help No. 12 Michigan cap a night-long celebration with an 84-80 victory over Indiana.
“We weren’t ecstatic in the locker room, but we were pretty happy,” Morgan said. “This was a unforgettable night.”
Morgan came to Michigan in 2009, and was a redshirt on a team led by Manny Harris and DeShawn Sims. They went 15-17, missed out on postseason play and didn’t look anything like a basketball power.

COLUMBUS — This was a fitting way for Aaron Craft to close out his final home game.
The hard-nosed point guard led Ohio State’s voracious defense down the stretch — even diving for a big rebound in the final 25 seconds — helping the Buckeyes rally past No. 22 Michigan State 69-67 on Sunday.
“Probably the poetic justice way to end the game was the way he did it,” Michigan State coach Tom Izzo said. “I give him a lot of credit for that.”
A lot of Buckeyes made big plays down the stretch as the Spartans went scoreless for the final 4:30. Ohio State (23-8, 10-8 Big Ten) scored the final four points.

Lions owner William Clay Ford dies at 88 PDF Print E-mail

DETROIT (AP) — William Clay Ford was born into a fortune and spent much of his life staying away from fame as he steered the family business and owned an NFL franchise.

The man reverently referred to as Mr. Ford, the last surviving grandchild of automotive pioneer Henry Ford and owner of the Detroit Lions, died Sunday. He was 88.

Ford Motor Co. said in a statement that Ford died of pneumonia at his home in Grosse Pointe. He worked for the company bearing his name for more than half of its 100-year history. He bought a business of his own, the Lions, a half-century ago.

Despite ample opportunity to boost his ego in either role, Ford chose to carry himself in a quiet way publicly.

"My father was a great business leader and humanitarian who dedicated his life to the company and the community," William Clay Ford Jr., executive chairman of Ford Motor Co. and Lions vice chairman, said in a statement. "He also was a wonderful family man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather."

To the masses in the Motor City, Ford was simply the owner of the Lions who struggled to achieve success on the field despite showing his passion for winning by spending money on free agents, coaches, executives and facilities.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) —The Minnesota Timberwolves can’t afford any more lazy starts like the one that got them beat two nights ago. They can’t afford any more losses to teams with inferior records. Their one last, desperate playoff push begins right now.
